I've always been drawn to anything creative; whether that was baking, sewing or singing. I was brought up with my Mum to always telling, 'do what makes you happy'. For a long time I thought that 'something' was Drama but it wasn't for me. And so that's where my Floristry story begins: about 8 years ago when I was walking home from a cafe job, I noticed a cute little florist. I needed a gift for my Mum as a thank-you, for yet again being my Saving Grace. I told the Florist I only had £4.50 to spare (hard times being a waitress) and what she put together inspired me so much, that the very next day I drove to Myerscough Agricultural College and booked onto a two year Floristry course. It didn't take me long to realise how wonderful my working life could now be.
After years working with other Florists around the North West, I decided it was time to set up Olive Owl in Wigan. Being a florist is something that takes a lot of hard work, commitment and creative spirit. I love a challenge, and I love to see how far I can push myself. It's such a wonderful thing to be able to make a living out of something you love, and that is why I am so grateful to each and every one of my customers. Purchases big or small: you help keep my dream alive. Thank you!
